Free API first
The site should use free checks wherever possible. Paid email breach APIs, paid people-search APIs, paid phone/address lookup APIs, and paid identity monitoring APIs should not be required for the core user experience.
This keeps operating costs lower and helps the product stay accessible.
Clear labels
Estimated exposure scores and verified checks are not the same thing. Estimated scores help prioritize cleanup. Verified checks are only labeled verified when a specific check actually runs.
Privacy-first limits
The site should not ask for Social Security numbers, banking information, driver’s license numbers, or identity documents for the core privacy score and cleanup workflow.
